Forum War! U.S. vs. The World

The U.S. Members of the Muzzleloadingforum hereby declare War on the Muzzleloadingforum members of the rest of the Entire Free World!

Since we U.S. members really sorta like you non-U.S. members, and we hope you sorta like us too, we don't really want to shoot at one-another. However, a War must be settled with bullets, therefore we will settle this one with a shooting contest. After all, it's nothing personal, just a war...

There will be two teams (armies).

The General of the U.S. Muzzleloading Forum Army will be me, jethro224.

The General of the World Muzzleloading Forum Army will be Soggy.

Participation is voluntary, but every shot counts. Every Muzzleloading Forum member is invited to join in on the fun, even the moderators.

Only traditional, open sighted muzzleloading firearms (Rifled or Smoothbore) are allowed. (no cannons or handguns)

Single patched round ball only. (no restriction on caliber)

Shots will be taken off-hand at 50 yards. (45.72 meters)

One shot per member.

Mutilated targets and targets with more than one hole will be disqualified.

If you miss the target completely, don't send in a blank sheet of paper. You are allowed to shoot until you hit the paper once.

The target is a standard sheet of printer paper with an X drawn thru the center corner-to-corner.

Shots will be measured from the center of the hole to the center of the paper.

Shots that measure 75mm or less (roughly 3 inches) from the center will score a "kill" for that members army.

Shots that measure 75.01mm or more from the center, but are on the paper, will score a "wound" for that members army.

Every three wounds will count as one kill.

The army with the most kills wins.

War is Hell! There's no way to know how many members will join each army. It's up to you! Please, take a shot to help your army win this war!

We will need time to raise the alarm, muster the troops, and form our battle plans so the War Starts Now!

Take your best shot.

Write "War", your screen name, and your Country on your target. Only registered forum members are allowed to participate in the battle.

Do not name your targets. (Example: Soggy shoots a target named Musketman)

If shooting in a group with another forum member(s), multiple targets may be sent in the same envelope to reduce the high cost of mail.

No targets may be faxed or scanned and sent by private topic to their corresponding generals, only original targets count.

Mail your target to your respective General postmarked by May 31, 2009.

General of The World

Each General will tally the scores for his army and forward them to Musketman who will then post the final results of the War.

Targets will not be returned unless an S.A.S.E. is included.

The TEAM USA Forum Battle Song:

In 2008 we took a little trip
Along with General Jethro down the mighty Mississip
We took a little bacon and we took a little beans
And we caught General Soggy in a town near New Orleans

We loaded our guns and Soggy's men kept a-comin'
There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago
We fired our guns and they begin to runnin'
On up the Mississippi 'til they got to Ontario

Yeah, they ran past the Wal-Marts
And they ran past Cabela's
And they ran past Dixie Gun Works
Dropping their guns as they go
They ran so fast
That our round balls couldn't catch 'em
On up the Mississippi 'til they got to Ontario

:applause: :applause: :applause: ........Hey you wasted all those years working in a tire factory; you should've been in Nashville writing songs.........
You forgot the verse where "They fired their cannons 'till the barrels melted down; then they grabbed an alligator and fought another round"...........You scared PETA gonna get on your case for that??? :rotf: :rotf:

Hi Gen. soggy, sir!

Last Sat I made my shot and Think I killed one of these lousy americans with a clean kill out of my flinter I had robbed from them!

Regards

Kirrmeister

 That's great Kirrmeister;........... :hmm: .......now if the number of members on this forum is correct (14,286) all we have to do is shoot another 14,283 U.S. members to make sure we win this war........ :rotf: :rotf: I can see the headlines now.........:"Soggy, Romeoh, and Kirrmeister"..............should have won this war;.......but ran out of powder, lead and patches :rotf: :rotf:

:hmm: HMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmm........... seems to be very quiet on the U.S. front........?? I think it's time to send in the canine unit and sniff around a bit.............

Today my target arrived at the HQ. Kill was confirmed by Gen. Soggy. But we are too less in the worlds army. Feel like defending at D-Day! :youcrazy:

Regards

Kirrmeister

NOTE to GENERAL JETHRO.......... Sir ; you might want to consider reassigning your medical unit to be your burial unit. We may have only fired a [strike]few[/strike]; [strike]some[/strike]; [strike]a couple[/strike]; well three shots....... , but they were all confirmed kills, and I expect as the weather warms and the blackflies become intolerable that your situation will only get worse
General [strike]Nuisance[/strike] Soggy

:( gees...these guys sound like they think the whole world's against them...pretty sad showin..3..maybe Soggy will have to call up his reserves.....

 ............I got reserves ?????? There's a reservation in the province, but it's way up towards the other end and I don't really want to get them fellars involved in an armed uprising (again)

General Soggy, Sir; While your army has been shooting well, the U.S. Forum Army has had a somewhat better turn-out at the enlistment booth. Unfortunately, several of my soldiers enlisted immediately following the St. Patrick's Day festivities... and... well, their aim was a little off... :shake:

This war has gotten off to a kinda slow start, but I expect the lead to start flyin' now that the weather is getting better for most of us.

Come on folks, fire a shot to support your team's Army! 14308 members and we ain't got but a dozen that actually go shootin'??? It could come down to one shot winning or losing this War!

Hi Gen. Soggy, Sir!

I will try to call the swedish and austrian division to arms! And even Polonian.

regards

Kirrmeister

 ...........That will be good Kirrmeister, I was thinking about making a few inquiries in Somolia; but after seeing how the Americians threat them fellows I guess i won't bother...... .
