Looking to trade my .40 cal longrifle for a US Civil War musket, either a ‘61 Springfield or P53, original in shooting condition or defarbed repro preferred. Not particular on a maker, just nothing Indian please.

The longrifle was made from an old DGW kit, I think in the 70s or 80s. Unsure of what actual style to call this piece, but to my eye it has elements of a Kentucky rifle. Features an “Ashmore Warranted” lock, stamped 1776, with “DGW” on the inside. Very crisp action, and a nice light trigger pull. It has some beautiful brass inlay and patch box, and is a very nice shooter. Great sporting gun, just too small to hunt with up here. It comes with all of the necessary cleaning implements, spare flints of a couple different sizes, all in a nice brass tinder box, and I’ll include ~85 rds of .395 ball.

This gun is very beautiful, but not a wall hanger. She’s meant to be used and I’d like to see her taken care of.
Again, I’m asking for a Civil War musket of decent-good quality, preferably with a matching bayonet. If you’re interested in a trade, please PM me.

Thank you!

Finn

Your ad needs the required photo of the piece with a card having your screen name and the date of the photo please.

Thanks

I'm afraid I don't have a trade but was wondering if you would consider selling the rifle outright.
