This is a flat “day” or small “hunting” horn. I like this style as it is thin to be close to the body when hunting where a large quantity of powder is not needed. The horn has a ½” 7-8 oz leather strap with a brass buckle that is set at 55” long with an additional 9” possible. The hard maple end plug has a twisted steel “U” nail to hold the strap to the horn. A smaller “U” nail in the horn attaches the strap at the spot end. I am asking $40 shipped to USA locations.

1-how is the nail attached to the front? Does the nail go all the way through the horn? Any concerns about water intrusion or leaks?

The nail does go into the horn, but it is sealed with a good epoxy. There are not leaks as determined by trying to blow into the horn and no sound of any air leakage is observed.

2-have you done an air test to confirm that the horn is not going to allow water intrusion or powder to leak—around the nails, but also the butt cap?

Yes, an air test was done with two of us listening for leakage. No sound of air was heard.

3-could you post or send me a pic of you holding the horn so I could get a better visual of the size?
