Just a thought. Has anybody heard of, or read of paper cartridges like a musket would use being made up for a smooth bore pistol. Just got to thinking that would be an interisting setup but I have never heard of it being done.

As far as I know, that is how Militery guns, both musket and pistol were loaded. I doubt though that they carried 40 rounds of pistol ctg in a large box, but they must have carried them in something.

I read somewhere that Dragoons carried pre loaded tin tubes for speed loaders, the pouch mounted to the sword belt cross strap and held 9-12 tubes.
For my smoothbore pistol a carry 1/2 dozen paper cartiges in a belt pouch like a sporan. Good for fast reloads if needed.
