Here is an interesting piece. It is a solidly built .58 caliber smoothbore flintlock pistol with an unpitted bore and great sparking lock. It is what is referred to as an Afghan bring back with some interesting twists. The lock is an original Dublin Castle pre 1798 extra flat lock with the common eccentric engraving and assembly batch marks. The barrel/breech is original and bears commercial London gunmakers view and definitive proof marks and has a clean bore. The trigger is late British pattern. The barrel band appears to be from a French carbine. The stock is likely a Ali Bubba creation as are the cast steel sideplate and trigger guard and grip cap. It appears the Afghans never throw anything away. Makes you wonder what exists over there from the early 19th century British "interest" in that country.
Anyway on one hand you have a solid shootable .58 smoothbore flintlock pistol and on the other hand the major parts to build a really authentic British light dragoon pistol.
Asking $485 shipped anywhere in the U.S. it is legal to ship to. Postal money order prefered but personal check O.K. with time to clear. Dublin1.JPG Dublin4.JPG Dublin2.JPG Dublin3.JPG Dublin12.JPG Dublin13.JPG Dublin14.JPG Dublin11.JPG Dublin5.JPG

Hi. A couple questions: 1. Does the vent hole line up with the pan correctly ? 2. Is the trigger guard secured to the stock with screws or nails ? Thanks, Rick.

Yes the vent is perfectly centered on the pan and the bottom of the vent is 1/16 above the bottom of the pan. The trigger guard is secured with two screws. Thanks for your interest.
