Is there such a thing as a flint lock conversion for a cannon?
The British gunners in the golden age of sail had flintlock ignition on their guns; see Master & Commander for that; they also drilled relentlessly and could fire faster than the Spanish & French. Is there such a thing as a flint lock conversion for a cannon?

Fuse or Not
Hey Dave, Question on the cannon lock. It seems there is a mount on the cannon barrel to hold the lock in place, as the brass on the lock is pretty thick and once the lock is mounted to the barrel and the lock primed, is there a hole in the lock pan that sits directly over the vent in the cannon barrel, which allows the flash to directly burn in a downward manner into the barrel vent.
No it vented sideways like a rifle or musket lock. It was bolted to another part that held the connecting charge.Hey Dave, Question on the cannon lock.
