Wasn't sure where to put this, so will do so here.

I ordered out some flax canvas from Harbor Freight, is 8'x8' nice heavy canvas, it is 100% flax and made in Russia. (this might be the original Russian duck. ) Is sold as a welder's protective blanket and comes fire retardant treated. Got it draped over the fence wetting down to obtain shrinkage.

The color is a light sage green, (the 46" barreled smoothie is optional) price was $40.00. I foresee a few projects coming out of this piece of material, haversacks, knapsacks, shooting bags, or, just treat it with water proofing for a nice diamond fly shelter and purchase one of the smaller sizes to cut up.

Thats a better deal than what I almost bought. Thanks for the link.

Can you post a close-up? I'm curious as to what type of weave (simple, twill etc.)
Thanks

Wouldn't you know it, I paid 40 bucks for the 8'x 8', and now it is on sale for $30.00.

Thank you for the tip! I've been holding off on making a diamond 'cause I couldn't find the right material for the right price. This looks good to me. Just put my order in.

PS: what weave is it, exactly? (For we uninitiated.)

Couldn't make up my mind as to cut it up for accoutrements, or keep for a diamond shelter. As resistance was low, and the 8'x8' was now on sale for $30.00, I struck again while iron was hot and ordered another one out.

Not crazy about the zinc coated grommets for the diamond fly shelter, but think I will leave in place and use heavy thread to stitch them around to hide & make the zinc disappear.
