When viewing LRs on TOW's consignment sales many have a flat {straight} length of the tang behind the breech end of the bbl. This looks awkward and isn't all that difficult to eliminate...most of the LRs made by "knowing builders" don't have this flat length and they have already solved this problem.
First thing I do is reduce the bolster so only enough is left to grab w/ a wrench when installing or removing.
The breechplugs as rec'd have a large radius at the bottom of the tang and bolster....this should be reduced to a 1/32" filet or as in the photo, a shallow hacksaw cut into the bolster also does the trick. Either way allows the tang behind the breech to immediately slope down for a much nicer looking wrist.
Because more mat'l will be filed off the top of the tang behind the breech, I leave the thicker end as is, but this could be reduced in thickness.
Probably most already know how to do this, but thought it might be of some value to those who do not. Getting this right adds to a nicely contoured wrist....Fred
