I made time and went to the range on Saturday morning for my first outing of 2023, spent forever getting ready but still managed to take the wrong patches! Add to that my shooting mat was still in the wash and it had the makings of a disaster day, luckily I shot (pistol) fairly well and caught up with some very old friends so not a wasted day by any stretch. Oh' and I joined the Southern Counties Patched Ball Club (95% Rifle Shooters) which will give me another reason to shoot!

Cabin fever is bad here. Temps outside have been high of 20 F. +, and low 7 F , at night. With Spring Turkey season coming in May , Gotta git the French Ped de Vashe , Foot of the cow , musket out to the range soon as a warm up comes. It is 16 Ga., Colerain barrel. Got wads , copper plated shot , and a ball mould . Though I built the gun ,I am the worlds most lousy turkey hunter , and will have to loan the gun to my hunting buddy , that's the best turkey caller I know. Think I'll go along and watch. .........oldwood
