First time forge welding anything! I cleaned up a nice piece of leaf spring and went to work. Came out great , the weld took right to it! I don't have the strongest arm, but I did what I could and then took it to the 20 ton air jack press just to make sure everything was ok.

The I hole drift came in and it worked great! I lost a lot of length LOL, but thats ok. It'll be a great hunting hawk to butcher deer and elk in the field.
