This is a Navy Arms marked (by Pietta) Remington I picked up a while back. Does the stainless finish mimic something was done on originals, maybe nickel?

To my knowledge , factory Nickel was not applied to any original Remington Armies or Navies , but definitely could have been done by a private owner in the original period
