I do a Civil War impression of a fighting Chaplain. I am now the Chaplain of the 5th Texas Infantry. I am an Ordained minister and I do the Church services at a lot of reenactments. I may be wearing a kilt , a grey coat, or a blue one. I may be on the cannon or I may be with the infantry. I carry a Dirk, and a remmington army with extra cylinders...I will die well...Walks with Eagles

Never heard of a Confederate Fighting Padre. However, I've heard of two Union ones and the most famous is 2nd USSS Lorenzo Barber. He'd preach to the boys and then fight alongside with them with his telescope rifle. So, what you're proposing has some historical precedent.

If you can, get a copy of "Chaplains in Grey" they are pretty easy to come by. Try Amazon or Ebay. Chaplains are a trip..and so am I. I can fall in with either side. depends on Which group I am with...WWE :hmm:

WWE - Does Chaplains in Grey have any accounts of Grey Chaplains who actually played a role in battle - Bishop Pope being excluded of course.
