Hi everyone, I got a lot of great advice here while doing the project shown below several years ago.

I am sad to say I have yet to fire it.

What kind of powder should I use for beer cans filled with cement for a projectile?

Where is a good place to get that powder?

How much should I use?

High powered rifles are fired from the front porch quite often.
I say this because the percussion from then have never caused me to lose the seal on the duel pain windows on the house.

Do you think firing the cannon there would damage the windows?

Coarse powder is needed. I don’t know in the US, where you’d get that coarse a powder, as I’m in Uk. I do however know a lady who lives near Hurricane, who would love to shoot any sort of canon.

Simon, please do let your friend in Hurricane see my post.
If she is interested I would love to make contact with her as I am only about 60 miles from Hurricane.

Thanks

Back Creek Gun Shop has cannon powder and fuse. He ships nearly every day of the week and knows all the laws, regulations, etc. regarding possession and shipping of powder. Almost everyone shooting artillery in the N-SSA gets their powder there.

Hi there. Sorry I’ve only just seen your reply. I’ll let her know. She’s not on this forum, but I’ll see if I can find a way to get you together.

Thanks for all the advice so far.

Simon I just wanted to thank you on the open forum. I had a long conversation with Nancy. What an interesting lady, thank for the opportunity to meet her.
