English Light 6 Pounder & Reenacting

I've commissioned a Light brass 6 pound cannon to be constructed with the primary intent using it for Revolutionary War reenacting, if all sticks to plan with the barrel and carriage maker I should have it late spring/summer time of 2023.

In the meantime I need to research and come up with a reenacting group to form around it. Anyone have good primary sources, returns, broadsides, deserter ads from time the time. I am located in Massachusetts and am trying to come up with a new unit that is not currently recreated in my area. Leaning towards an early war 1776/177 Knox's Artillery Regiment (Continental Artillery Regiment). I've been trying to dip into primary sources using some archives, LOC, Massachusetts historical society records, and so far just the stuff that is available online. If anyone has any experience forming a new group, or knows of good information pertaining to Continental Artillery units I'd love if you could share it.

You might find some use for this booklet carried by Amazon. It details operations for the gun as used by the British Army but would probably be the same for colonial use.

I have a nice little museum-quality 1/8th scale model of one that I won on eBay maybe 7 or 8 years back.

It was built based on plans from the Woolrich artillery museum. It appears that they used curly maple for the carriage and was part of a numbered run of these models offered to former artillery officers and collectors in the UK.

It's quite detailed down to the partitioned ammunition boxes. However, it doesn't have lower lockers like the one in your drawing.

Now that is a MASTERPIECE, What a nice job. I try to show off my little model cannon and all these fantastic cannons are coming out of the woodwork. O well, at-least mine eats less.
