Pheasant.
Can of bacon and lentil soup.
Garlic salt.
Black pepper.
Olive oil.

Shallow fried diced pheasant in the oil. Add the pepper and garlic salt.
After ten minutes max add the soup.

Would love to try it.
I note on lentles and black eyed peas a ‘musty’ flavor
So this might get me experimenting with a red or white bean
What would you say tge spices that you note in your soup.

I don't quite understand your last comment friend?
The.... fat fingers on the phone.
The canned lentils and bacon what do you taste as spice in it?
just salt and pepper? Garlic, do you taste seed herbs
I make lots of legumes and some times it’s just ham or bacon, onion and salt and pepper, sometimes lots of herbs, and extra veggies.
so I was wondering what was in the Lenten and bacon soup

Oh I see. Not had a look at the label sorry. I will look next time. The can is in the trash now.
To be honest, reading the small print is a pain these days as I need to find reading glasses nowadays so usually don't bother!

That looks great Britt... but i've never seen a can of bacon and lentil soup, and pheasants are a day's drive north, at least.
I went on a 3 day hunt in Nebraska a few years ago. Four of us got a daily limit every day, then I ended up with most of the birds.

I cooked them several ways, damn they will dry out quick.
