It is with regret that I inform you that Dutch Schoultz ,the well known and much liked and respected author of the book "Black Powder Rifle Accuracy", passed on the 8th of April 2022 .
Dutch passed quietly and without pain at the age of 94 with his family at his side .
His Daughter Lynn will continue to sell his book .

He was a Godsend to our sport and other people and I always liked his quick whit! He also helped me in my black powder journey. My condolences to the family! RIP Dutch and thanks for everything!

A legend in our sport! I never met the gentleman in person, but we emailed back and forth, he was actually humbled when I asked him to sign my copy of his accuracy book. He then sent me a few of what he called “ artifacts” of his days gone by. A couple of old porcelain door knobs( to make range rods) and a home made ball starter. I thanked him repeatedly and offered to pay for them or at least pay shipping.. he wouldn’t have it and sent the items to me. Thanks again Dutch! You will be sorely missed!

R.I.P. Dutch.

I am sad to see this. As with many of you he was helpful to me and I enjoyed a number of phone conversations with him. Always a gentleman, quick witted but also opinionated as many of us are about this sport.

My condolences to his daughter, family and many friends.
