Is it just me or has anyone else noticed how much dust is in Goex powder lately?
It fouls fast and hard (here where it’s dry)
It also quickly turns the clear water in my bucket black with 2 pumps.
I’ve heard other people complain so I’m trying Olde Eynesford (by Goex) it’s only about a buck more per pound.
Today I had a Long, fun, enjoyable and frustration free day with my flintlock. Using OE and only spit patches it never once fouled or even got hard to ramrod after 50 or so shots.
I was floored, I fully expected to have to at least wipe it several times if not actually clean it a time or two but never had to do anything. Again, when clean I could see the bottom of my water bucket.
OE is kinda shiny like coal with zero dust, not flat black and dusty like Goex.
They got weird numbers too... the 2 is closer to FFFg, while 1 1/2 is like FFg when comparing granules.
Dunno what they do to this “premium powder “
But I like how clean it burns.
