This is a .45 cal. Rifle I made over 30 years ago. 28” barrels, 13/16” octagon, from Numrich arms co. Bores are bright. Twist is 1 in 48”. Shoots maxi balls best, but patched roundballs work well. Right barrel is on at 50 yards, left barrel at 100 yards. 13” length of pull. Weight is 11#. Hooked breech and 1 barrel key for easy cleaning. Hand made locks, 2 single triggers. Actions work well.
Cherry stock, iron furniture. Hickory ramrod with brass end, 10-32 threaded. Pewter nose cap. Iron patchbox. Solid, well built rifle. Marked C. Jones No.8. On barrel.
Has not been shot for 30 years, and probably less than 100 shots total, but was a good deer rifle. Killed deer, including a nice 8 point buck with the second barrel. So, has actually used the second shot. Has a few minor dings, a tight crack in front of the lock that was there when the rifle was built. There is some old rust on some areas due to uneven browning. Makes the rifle look like an original.
Would like to get $975.00. That price includes shipping in lower 48 states.
