Hi all I live in Florida. I belong to a pirate reenactment group and my friend who runs the group has a few swivel cannons. I have been part of the cannon line shooting blanks for festivals. I have run into people from out of state at these pirate events and some of them at other venues have fired three to five pounder cannons with live balls in them. I don't think there is a regular range in Florida that let's you shoot cannons. I am not talking about miniatures in 50 to 69 caliber like what Traditions make. I mean full size cannons. I heard Hernando gun club once had a cannon shoot. I don't own a cannon yet. I was just thinking about if I did where I could go to legally discharge a live cannon ball even if I have to drive to Georgia or Alabama m I know fullsized cannons can shoot far like over a mile.

Does anyone have a list of ranges shooting large caliber cannons are allowed?

Checked with the new Greeneville Tn range and they said NO. Actually very rude.

Wait, you are the one with a cannon and they were rude to you??
I’m sure you could shoot one at the hernando range… they have a machine gun shoot twice a year I think. Next one is Fourth of July I believe, last time I went they had everything from uzi’s to a mini guns with plenty of .50 bmg’s in between.
I need to stop by the Hernando gun club range. I keep going to the Dade City gun club because it's usually quiet and not too many people there. I can't shoot shot or buck in my trade musket there. I can only shoot round ball or Conicals. Thanks for the replies.
