Dimick Rifles

I've been considering a half stock percussion rifle, that stands above the crowd. But I don't really want the standard Hawken-style rifle. I'm told the Dickert half stock rifles are exactly what I'm looking for. Let's see yours please.

I've always been partial to the clean look of a Vincent half stock. Have you considered one?

I don’t know of any Dickert rifles that were made as half sticks or in percussion for that matter. Pretty sure shop was closed by the time percussion came along.

No sir. Not sure I've seen one. I've been obsessed with flintlock longrifles forever, but I'm about to liquidate and start over with half-stocks cap locks.

I'm gonna change this Dimick rifles. I found what I was looking for.

Got it! Dimick rifles were contemporary with later Hawken rifles in St.Louis. High quality. Don Stith sells a kit. A friend of mine assembled one last year. It came out very nice. Look up “Don Stith Dimick”.
Give Don a call. Good guy with a huge store of knowledge. His website has not been updated recently. I think he’s using Rice barrels now.

If you want a Dimick rifle, then the Don Stith kit is what one needs to look at.

Here is my Dimick. It was a Don Stith kit and my first build. I did have help. 34” Rice barrel, 1 1/8” tappered to 1”, .54cal, L&R lock, walnut stock with all steel hardware color case hardened. Tin nose cap.

By the way, @BobV9691, welcome to the Forum.

While you did get some help, you did most of the work yourself. An advantage of being associated with a traditional muzzle loading gun club. Not only does your rifle look good, it performs as well as it looks. I've seen the targets.
