I have come across a double barrel gun marked Wm. Wingert Detroit. Browned barrels marked with what is probably a maker's mark and the number 14 on each barrel. No rifling. I believe it is a shotgun but all I can find about the maker is rifles in the civil war. Any help as to age. Would be appreciated.

From what I found out he made rifles, contract and otherwise from 1837 to 1867, in 67 he sold out to Fisher and Long. I did see a Wingert Hawken style (target) rifle that had sold on an auction site. Yes he also made shotguns:
