Booth's pistol had a butt cap and back strap. I want to put one on my Philadelphia derringer. I'm trying to figure out how to do it and what to make it out of. Any suggestions?

I found a couple of good pics of the actual gun. This is what I want on my pistol. I'm thinking maybe I can use a vintage spoon(s) and work it into shape? What say ye? Thanks.

Check out the photos of the pair I have for sale in the classifieds. The butt cap and backstrap on those are castings,
