For sale, a new, never fired Deringer Trade rifle in .54 caliber flintlock.
PRICE IS $2500 with blanket case, tow worm, and wiping stick (heavy duty extra ramrod).
The build is detailed here:Starting a Deringer trade rifle
The gun is very closely modeled after the Deringer trade rifle in the book “For Trade and Treaty.” Many parts were fabricated to match the specs of the original. This is a one-off custom gun. Almost nothing in the build is off the shelf.

Specs:

Barrel is a tapered .54 Charles Burton barrel. It is 1” wide at the breech and 7/8” at the muzzle. It is 42.5” long. It has a Chambers touch hole liner but not the stainless steel type. It is made of barrel steel. The barrel is rust browned. it is held to the stock with wedges, which have brass escutcheon plates

Lock is a customized Davis Contract rifle lock. It has a new sear and sear spring.

Stock is very tightly striped hard maple, stained reddish brown as Philadelphia rifles often were.
Single simple trigger is hand crafted. Trigger guard and buttplate are custom. The guard was cast from a master I made. The buttplate was formed of sheet brass. The patchbox, toeplate, thimbles, nosecap, and sideplate were formed from sheet brass to match the original. The rear sight was fabricated to match the original.
The spectacular running deer brass cheekpiece inlay was custom made by my good friend Tom Curran as a slightly enlarged copy of the original.
The patchbox release is in the toeplate as the original.
I’m attaching some pictures here but check out there build as well Starting a Deringer trade rifle
Please, serious interested parties only, who could complete purchase in 2020.
