I'm looking for some advice on deer hunting in Indiana, or better yet, someone who might be willing to let me tag along. I went hunting with my grandfather when I was little but don't remember many practical things, and I've never hunted with a muzzleloader before.

Good luck to you. :)

I've know several hunters who would give you their trucks before they told you, or any stranger, where their favorite hunting spot is.

If your really buddies with some of them, they might take you on a hunting trip to their favorite place but more than likely, they will take you to another place which could be close to their favorite place or miles away from it.

It's not that they are being selfish. It is just that they might have spent weeks or months looking for a really good place before they find it.

If you don't know much about hunting with a muzzleloader, you really need to know the basics and then some. You can't just go shooting one out of the box or if someone lends you one. Are you using a traditional gun such as a flintlock or a percussion rifle? With a traditional ML there are a lot of accessories that go with it not to mention the challenge of sighting it in properly, working up a load and SAFETY. Get educated, ask questions here and read a lot on shooting a ML. Also check out if there are any ML clubs in your area. Ask around at local hunting stores. The fact that you suggested that another hunter might let you "tag along" shows you are pretty much just starting out and have a lot to learn. Good luck. Flashpoint.
