We've added a new twist to our instruction format. After a day shooting at various targets, the Scouts get pretty proficient with muskets. We then let them fire a couple live fire volleys like was done in the Civil War. Target is a large piece of drywall and when the minies hit, drywall flies. The kids love it.

ATTENTION! FRONT RANK! READY!

Kids really liked when PathfinderNC paid a visit with Bess and a Longrifle.

Many thanks to Bob for helping out and adding another dimension to our instruction sessions. His work on Appalachian dulcimers is nothing short of spectacular.

We have every intention of keeping this up. Kids need a safe, fun, positive experience with black powder and muzzleloading early on and hopefully, some will remember it and get bit by the muzzleloading bug. But if nobody does anything it's never going to happen so get involved!
