As promised photos of my "new to me" CVA Kentucky in .45. As you can see it has some wear and tear from use. (It is about 40 years old). No warning on the barrel, no CVA, Caliber or serial no. That can be seen. Maybe on the underside of barrel. Like I said only paid $150 for it.

Plan is to remove all hard wear, polish, remove barrel and refinish then refinish the stock.

Well when I take it apart I'll change the front sight.

He used a gel stain, don't want to have to sand it a great deal as it all fits together very nicely. Any suggestions? I was thinking of one of the citrus strippers.??

The stock somewhat looks like its made of gun wood.

Leave it be, a nicely used rifle looks much better than a new looking one that lives in a safe. This way too you will not be afraid to use the heck out of it. Nice deal.

Check Deer Creek Muzzleloading for a new tang bolt or take it with to match up at local hardware or automotive. Needs a much larger head on that bolt, Supposed to be metric.
