Okay...here goes. I have a Colt 2nd gen 1860 Army US Cavalry commemorative. A person is questioning/doubting how authentic my Colt is because after the SN# it is stamped US. He says that most true Colts he has seen have the letters before the actual numbers not after? Can anyone shed some light on this? I do not know. :hmm:

Most probably to prevent a bit of "weathering" and passing it off as an original era revolver...my best guess but it's the kind of thing some makers have practiced who bring back a line.
