While not really a fowler, I have a club butt Leonard Day Dutch trade gun. I was a little leery of the shape at first, but I have to say it is the most natural feeling gun I have when shouldering it.

This is a Hudson Valley Fowler patterned after on the book "Flintlock Fowlers". I don't know if it would be considered a 'club butt', but it is very heavy in the butt.

It's a bit heavy for traipsing the fields. With the weight towards the rear it swings east and west like a feather and I use it for wing shooting and trap.

Looks very much like a first model Bess lock, like the Willits from Track, minus the stampings. A great looking lock in any case.

I have one made by DOSS WHITE, that I bought from TOTW, 4 yrs ago for $2000.00+. it is a DOGLOCK, and 80 bore! it came with an 80 bore mold. they are hard to come by, also. it is almost to pretty to shoot. but I didn't buy it to hang up and look at it. I have shot it maybe 60.70 times so far. it is a blast to shoot. pun intended!!

I have a bunch, love them, they mount to the shoulder extremely well (due to balance) and carry well, for their length, as the continuously tapered barrels lighten up the muzzle end, even thought the barrel lengths are 54” and 60”.

Here’s my big 75 by Jackie Brown, where I have since replaced the brass furniture with steel/iron.
