Just a public service announcement, there is a class coming up in a couple of weeks outside of Cincinnati in Goshen, Ohio that may be of interest. It’s hosted by the Goshen Twp Historical Society Blacksmith school/shop (GoshenHistory).

Per the description, Joe Seabolt and Frank House are teaching a class on forging Butt Plates and Trigger Guards for Flintlock Rifles. They will show methods to forge complex shapes using traditional techniques including brazing in a coal forge. These techniques may be applied to many other types of hardware or art pieces.

I’m not affiliated with the school but have taken classes there with both Joe & Frank and this should be a great class. There’s still a couple spots left so follow the link if you want to register or find out more.
