Am I under the impression that the flash hole of a flintlock would not be in the same place as the drum hole for the nipple of a percussion rifle??Would this be true if the locks were made by the same company and are the same exact dimensions. After looking at several barrel makers web sites, they do no ask if the barrel is for a flintlock or percussion rifle, therefore I assumed that ther hole would be in the same position for both. Is this correct or am I way off base??

Unless we are talking T/C muzzleloaders...

They have different breeches for each style...

Yup. At least for the Siler and L&R locks I've worked with, the location is close enough that the flintlock doesn't know the difference.
That is why I have mentioned that if your building a Convertable rifle you need to install the precussion system first as the drum location is much more critical to the hammer location to achieve the proper alignment.
After setting up the precussion system, then replacing the drum with a touch hole liner the liner seems to always be in the right place (or at least close enough that the gun doesn't care.)
