I have an Ohler that sets on the bench and I put the sky screens at 15' from the muzzle. There are three screens, a start screen #1, a stop screen #3 and a #2 screen between them. The #2 screen registers anomalies. They are mounted on a 3' bar clamped to two light stands.

Hello Hanshi glad you are ok. This Ohler sounds like Graeme Wright from same double rifle book. I have the cat on slipway this new mooring ripped out bottom of keel. a lot of damage so been at Shoreham in Rapido all week.

I usually put my pro chrono dlx at a measured 10 yds. After that I put it a 100 yds at the target. Using my ballistic all that allows me to roughly figure out my ballistic coefficient and muzzle velocity so I can then dial my soule sight for the 400 and 500 yd range I have available. That allows me to hit gongs with little to no trial and error. Knock on wood, I haven’t shot it yet! It also helped me understand why a RB is a short range hunting projectile. My .54 flint rifle loses 125 fps in the first 10 yds. Roughly equivalent to going from 85 mph to 0 mph in your car in 30 ft!
