So, while unable to sleep which happens quite a bit as I continue to age.....
There have been several threads in which people have voiced their problems with getting their chambered breech guns to fire reliably and lots of advice on how to remedy.
Several well-known British gunmakers, Nock, Manton etc. made chambered breech guns and while not being well read on writings of the period regarding shooting I have read some and do not remember it being a problem.
Why did the sportsmen of the time period not have problems that the modern enthusiast struggles with?
