CCI has announced on thier website a new product(for them). 4 wing musket caps for reenactors. To come out this year, what I could see after magnifiying thier sample tin they come in 100 count. So don't pass up the CCI caps when your looking for 4 winger/flange caps.
Just go to www.CCIammunition.com to see.

The Re-Enactor caps have been very marginal in my Whitworth with Pyrodex. I sometimes resort to them for drying out the nipple before loading, and they do light off BP OK. Don't recall any good groups shot with them yet, but may try them again later on.

I’ve always had good luck with CCI musket caps. Some deride them as only good for reenactment but they’ve always worked for me. Though, I’ve only used them with real black powder.

Holy 13 year old thread revival.

I found they wont touch off my 1861 pedersoli worth a damn.
