Have a H&A underhammer. Am having a problem keeping the caps on the nipple. Have to squeeze the caps obround to keep them on.

That sounds like your using #11 caps on a nipple that is sized for #10's.
Have you tried using #10 caps on the gun?

Should you be using #11s on a #10 nipple and given the lack of #10s right now get a #11 nipple.

It was my understanding 11 are smaller then 10s in size.
No. Typically #11s are standard on rifles. #10s are typically standard on revolvers up to Dragoon. A #11cap will seat loose on a #10 nipple. A #10 cap won't seat on a #11 nipple. Seating is typically thumb pressure. There are subtle differences in brands of same size but usually will fit correct nipple. Even nipples can vary a little. Sometimes there's a bit of tuning of the nipples that needs to be done to get the optimal fit. You can use a piece of dowel with a handle to push them to seat. I had one giving me problems while shooting and put the hammer on it and pushed on the hammer to seat it till I got home then spun the nipple in a drill and shaped it. I've heard of using a smear of soft wax around the cap to secure it. Being a single shot a little pinch won't cause any issues. Wouldn't do it on a double or revolver though.

Depends on the maker. Unlike CF primers there is no standard for cap sizes. CCI and Remington cap numbers are different.
A Remington #10 is NOT the same size as a CCI #10. The CCI#11 is a closer fit but not quite. A Remington #11 is the same size as the Remington #10 but with shorter skirt. (shameful). The CCI#10 is smaller that the Remington #10 and the CCI#11.
Are you confused now?
RWS 1075 is out there somewhere but works well on the "hotshot" nipple in my Green River Rifle and Pedersoli shotgun.
Having said that as hard as caps are to find now do what you have to do and keep shooting.
Except revolvers because loose fitting caps are a recipe for the dreaded, but exciting, CHAIN FIRE.
