The other day I decided to change out the nipples on my 51 Navies(Uberti's),called Thunderidge(BOB)ordered Treso nipples. When they arrived I noticed that they are .015" longer than the factory nipples(on average do to the varying length of factory cones). The hammer did not sit 'AT REST' as it did before. So I shortened the nipples to fit each revolver.I do not trust 'MY' hardening skills to file on the face of the hammer to reduce it's length(hardening is only.008-.015 thick).I set my nipples up so in the 'AT Rest' position there is gap of .001-.002 between the hammer and nipple. So off to the range, pistols worked just fine.Did some speed shooting (for me anyway?)NO CAP JAMS!Tried sveral different types of caps.1075,CCI 11,Remington 10,the only cap jam I had was with CCI 10's.Treso's have a smaller hole in the nipple(.028)less blow back.I shot every kind of powder and load variations I had(including 25grns of Swiss 3fg)and the common SUB's still NO CAP JAMS.The best caps for me were the RWS 1075 and the Remmy 10's.Treso nipples are very uniform, and they work.I considered both the time and money well spent.I would caution anyone shooting the last swiss load it is "VERY STOUT" and could cause undue stress on the revolver. All tests were done with stock springs,no tricks no gimmicks. I have no vested interest in Treso, just passing some information along. ..Respectfully Montanadan
