My grandfather bought this pistol in the 60’s and shot competitions with it. He and I are interested in the history of it and possible value if anyone can help shed some light on it. It is hard to tell but the barrel has silver inlay and under the barrel is stamped 1845. Thank you to anyone that may be able to help.

Any German gun experts out there? This looks like a very nice example of a 1830’s -1850’s target pistol.

Hola.

Afectosamente

My Google Translators version of what you wrote:

Hello.
It's a shooting pistol. On the platen, the safety mechanism is missing, which was attached to that ledge in front of the hammer. It was a lever that prevented the hammer from touching the chimney. It has a trigger that is regulated by the small screw on the back.

Thank you everyone. From what I have found so far is that it was made by John Wurfflein who immigrated from Ansbach to Philly. He and his brother Andrew made guns in Philly for a while. I can't find much about the models or anything, but have gotten that far.
