Well...that went off the rails quickly 
As to the OP's original post; I'm still a minimalist so there are no photos. I put down my canvas drop cloth, then my bearskin and lay on top of both with my wool blanket. If it's winter, substitute the bearskin with a buffalo robe and change out to a heavier wool blanket. This has taken me down to single digits on an upstate NY overnight in an open shelter.

I might add that my new PP tent is quite solid and withstands a stiff breeze. Had one night with winds of 40+ mph and nothing flimsy about it. Good pegs, a few extra lines on it front and back and she stood firm. Slept like a log.
