Howdy folks. After a couple months down I am back from the dead. And ready to get back on my rifle projects and getting ready for squirrel hunting time. I've had a (N.O.S. in the white) CVA .32 squirrel rifle barrel in my shop for several years. Been looking for a stock to modify to fit it, as it is easier to find Bigfoot riding a unicorn then it is to find an actual squirrel rifle stock set made by CVA. And my wood carving skills aren't quite where they need to be to start from scratch and build my own yet. I was working a gun show in west Tennessee earlier in the year and the gentleman with a booth next to mine was an eighty-something gunsmith that had just retired and was selling all of his leftover gun parts. The pictured stock was laying under the table so I asked him what he wanted for it. $30.00 later it was mine. It is about two or three inches too long so I will have to cut that down but the CVA barrel sits almost perfectly in the channel. Does anybody know what brand and model rifle this stock came off of? I recognize the brass work and decorations but can't remember what brand they were. I am thinking maybe an old Traditions or a Dixie import. If anybody recognizes it any info would be very helpful as I would rather hunt down the correct tang, lock, etc, and not have to do a ton of fitting. Would love to be posting pictures of a successful squirrel hunt or two with this rifle around the end of October. Thanks guys and any info will be greatly appreciated.

I know I have seen the brasswork before but can't remember what it is. If I can find the right parts I think it will make a cool little squirrel rifle. A short longrifle...

Hermit Tim, it looks very much like a Royland Southgate stock to me. If not familiar, he was a Tennessee gun builder in the middle part of the past century. His rifles were dubbed Tennessee maids. He was from the volunteer state.

Best regards, Skychief.
