I just posted Part 8 of the series that I have been doing of building a fusil-de-chasse. In this one I inlet the main spring and drill the holes for the lock bolts through the stock and lock plate. I hope that you enjoy it. All comments are welcome.

I just put Part 10 up on You Tube. This one is putting in the tang bolt, installing the flash hole liner, and the front sight.

Nice job on both the tang bolt and the front sight.

I usually find help (extra pair of hands from the Mrs) to hold the stock\barrel steady. I'm not aquadrextris like you!!

(Aquadrextris = The ability to hit a baseball right or left handed, while under water) :shocked2:

Here is Part 11. This is starting to get into the metal work.

Steel is a PITA to prep. OTOH....I prefer steel over brass. But....if I could pay someone to prep all the furniture.......I'd likely build more rifles!!!

It sure is a pain. Just started the next gun. Doing video on that also. This gun I just started also has steel parts. Time to buy a belt sander.

Here is Part 13. Installing buttplate and a bit on sharpening chisels.

Here is Part 14. Taking some wood off the fore end and starting the entry pipe.

Just got done with #13. Nice video! Now I know how to "more better" sharpen my chisel's......AND more better inlet a buttplate!!

Thanks

Glad to hear that you like them. I will get to carving the stock to shape pretty soon. That is the fun part.

Here is part 15. See just how ridiculously easy it is to inlet the entry pipe.
