Hello everyone,
I stumbled upon this forum trying to identify a pistol that I've received as a gift. It comes from the Netherlands, but the brass plating reminds me of my home region - the Balkans. I would appreciate any help on the origin of the pistol. Was it a functioning weapon, or just a replica, or a kit made gun? There are no visible markings, save for the little mark on the handle, just above the butt.
Here are the pictures, and thank you in advance.

Looks like a Balkan area pistol to me, but there are others with more experience, who will know more

It looks like the gun is covered with sheet brass. Looking at the relationship of the cock to the frizzen I don't believe the lock could function and the cock itself looks suspect. It could be a replacement but it's also possible the gun was never built to be fired.

Hello. The pistol is considered Albanian. And a very common style in that Region. It was likely made at one of the many gun making centers in the Balkans - for the Albanian market, first half of the 19th Century. The stock is actually wood and sheathed in genuine brass. The miquelet style lock is a very common - and a widely used Balkan variant on Albanian guns.
The butt cap is one of the two styles most encountered on these pistols. The other style is usually referred to as a "rat tail". Here are a trio of Albanian pistols for comparison.
