Brass head pipe hawk with curly maple handle. The handle is hollow and connects to the tobacco bowl on the hawk, if you'd be inclined to actually use it as a pipe. There's no edge on this, and it should not be used for throwing, chopping or other axe-like things. The brass has a mustard color patina and there is a leather lanyard in the handle for attaching a strap or decorations.

Is this the brass hawk that Track sells?
I can't say for certain, but I'd suspect it is not. The guy I got it from was in a group of local makers, so I'd guess the source is eastern PA...maybe something picked up at the Gunmaker's Fair in Kempton.
 
I purchased this brass hawk. For those that are interested in one for themselves, it is available on the R.E. Davis web sight. It's called the Fancy Pipe Tomahawk head. They have several to choose from, in steel and in brass.
