Never have shot or owned an 1847 Walker. A lot of people say they are fun to shoot. So today at a gun show I saw one that was what I thought was an excellent price and bought it. It is a Richland Arms import made by ASM. Date code of AU. Looks unfired and near perfect condition. A Q Tip came out clean in all six cylinders and the barrel was spotless. No cylinder ring. Cycles perfectly. Came with everything in the picture including a full tin of caps. Got it for $300 out the door. Guess I will have to give this beast a whirl.

I was listening to the comments of a group next table over yesterday while working up two loads (conical and ball) for my Walker and it was punctuated by "damn" what's that guy shooting ! With the smoke and loud Boom Walkers make that's all there own it was fun to be shooting even with the challenges I was having ringing out the new gun and figuring out what she wanted.
They sure have their own signature sound much like a Harley Davidson cycle !

i just staggered in from the shop. read your lead and first thing that flashed into my empty head was a walker, you know, the fourlegged kind us old guys have stashed in the corner?
I have a Lyman Walker that i sorely neglect. i would have to be living under a bridge to sell mine for 300.
good on ya! loaded right it equals a 357 mag.

I thought it was a deal especially with the wood display case, flask, capper, No11 percussion caps, nipple wrench, couple of extra nipples, and some balls. I immediately thought it is time for a Walker.
