I prefer the period correct method.....I have no fear of blowing my own head off accidentally.....those that do, obviously should refrain.... :grin:
 
Risky...I 'clean' the bore of my rifle between shots with damp tow and a tow worm. This serves to dampen any residual embers that may be smoldering, as well as removes the previous shot's fouling. I then often blow down the barrel to make sure the vent hole is not clogged before reloading. Some ranges ban the practice of blowing down the barrel for safety reasons and will often ask you to leave. Best check with any range officer first.
 
Its de'ja'vous all over again. Dyed in the capote front stuffers blow down the barrel tween shot...except for them what don't :haha:
