Best with #11 magnum caps or RWS 1075 caps and a Hot Shot, Red Hot or other nipple designed for higher ignition temperatures and more flame through the flash channel.

Yes, but as @Grenadier1758 suggested, consider magnum caps and the proper nipple for consistent ignition, particularly with a more difficult to ignite sub like T7.
Musket caps work well with T7 2 or 3 f. I have T/C musket nipples in both my T/C Hawken n Renegade rifles.
The reason I am looking at this is I would like to take this gun to south africa. Can't bring powder or caps on the plane even though you can bring loaded cartridges. I have heard you can't get black powder over there.

My .50 cal Renegade wouldn't, with standard #11 caps.
But it worked fine with RWS 1075+ and musket caps.

YES, as long.as the breech plug is clean a #11 cap will be all you need.

The key word in my statement is CLEAN
This is a hawken. No removable breech plug. I assume you mean a clean nipple and flash hole?
T/C .36 Seneca # 11 cap using Triple 7 original nipple and have never had a misfire cleanliness on nipple and flash channel is you friend
They don't have one for my AME(?) 1849 5 shot pocket. Even sent em a sample. Had to have a custom one made for $35.00ish
The TC Hawken is said to be the most finicky in ignition but I shot a whole lot of pyrodex in mine with various #11 caps and had no problems.
Two years ago I and my SIL along with two grandsons shot a 25 shot aggregate match together. I shot Scheutzen but the other three shot t7 and CCI caps in two GPRs and a Traditions Deer Hunter. So that's 75 shots plus a few practice shots. The had ZERO ignition problems.
Use loose powder not pellets and the Winchester Magnum caps if you can find them sometimes a musket nipple will not line up on some TC's without some hammer adjustments but as stated above, they work reliably!
My TC 50 Hawken and TC 58 Big Boar work great with Triple 7 3F and regular CCI caps. My TC Cougar however does not fully ignite the powder, I get some weird turbo charger effect, it's funny actually, but it works great with real black powder.
I used pyrodex in my Renegade with no problems.
I have shot a lot of Pyrodex with no problem as long as I flush the oil out before shooting the rifle.It is post vilifying synthetic powders that send the wrong message. There are a lot of us that couldn't shoot if it wasn't for Pyrodex?
