Billinghurst

Hello all. I have a partial billinghurst kit or I should say some parts, i.e. receiver, hammer, triger, spring, undertang, instructions on heat treating parts and buttstock.
I should get this built while I am able.
can anyone tell me where to find instructions and information on Billinghurst underhammer rifle building, and sourcing a barrel?
I have no experience building a rifle although I have tuned and lightly modified several cap and ball revolvers that I shoot and they work very well.

Will your rifle be a heavy target rifle or a lighter one for off hand shooting?

Will your rifle be a heavy target rifle or a lighter one for off hand shooting?

I guess that will be dependant on the barrel I use, but I generally like rifles in thw 7.5 pound range for hunting.
I think my cal. will be ,54 to ,62

Two resources come to mind: Roger Renner had a nice underhammer blog going a few years ago. Don't know if it is still available.
You might also get inspiration from Ned Roberts's classic "The Muzzleloading Caplock Rifle."
