Do any of you load a 20 ga HEAVY like 1 3/4 oz of 5s or 6s to knock those squirrels out of those tall tall trees? Call me crazy but if I can't get the gun I want maybe I can load heavy. I'm basically a squirrel hunter. I got 3 round ball guns for the task but I love shot guns.

I’ve shot two ounces in my 20 bore. Just found it a waste of shot. Sans choke my kill isn’t much denser. I’m shooting about 1.5 for turkey. Tree rats I generally load in the one ounce range. Generally I’m a mite closer and kill/ cripple area on a squirrel is much larger than turkey.

Nah, just back off the powder;
"less powder, more lead. shoot's further makes dead"
It's all about the group dude, "pattern" the gun,, it ain't rocket science,, it's a squirrel.
Why waste the lead?
