I've got a Pietta 1858 Rem. I have not had a problem with CCI #10's in it but I want to swap out the nipples. I've got a pile of CCI caps so I figure I might as well buy new nipples that work best with those.

What do you guys recommend? Tresco? ToW? Slixshot? Any others I should look at?

Thanks!

You want nipples that have the same cone height. I have one revolver, an 1858 NMA, that requires a longer cone. It won't fire standard CCI #10, CCI #11, or RWS 1075, but will fire CCI #11 Magnum. These caps are loose and even after pinching will jam the cylinder no matter how carefully I hold the revolver to cock the hammer to rotate the cylinder.

It's not just the thread size but cone length too.

I found nipples for #11 caps with a longer cone that seem to work much better.
