Where I am folks harvest their honey about the 4th of July. Should be plenty out there. If all else fails Amazon has it.

Get one of the 40% off Hobby Lobby coupons out of the paper and pic some up over there. The coupon makes it much cheaper but still more than it would cost from a beekeeper, I think the last I bought was $6 a pound with the coupon.

Go to your county extension agent and ask for names of beekeepers in your area. Contact them. You will find them, generally, to be a friendly bunch. Some may even give you free wax as it is nusiance by-product to them. Buying some honey can also do much to 'sweeten' the relationship.

I like to buy from the independents and home hobbyists.
You know - support the little guy.
Yes our local Hobby Lobby does carry it.
I did get a contact lead on one of our local bee keepers, should hear back from them next open market day.
Hopefully will be able to score a couple of jars of local honey at the same time. (If it pans out)

The one here in our small town is now posted. I have not been back in there since last year when the signs went up. I did get several comments about the stores as a chain that indicate they are not all like that which is why I removed my comment. There is a core of businesses here that are rabid leftist leaning.
