This rifle is essentially the same pattern as the one used by Green River Rifle Works back in the 1970's. It may have actually been built from a GRRW kit but I have no way to ascertain that so I'm not claiming it as so. Either way, the workmanship is excellent. If you go to grrw.org you can see their rifle. The .54 cal barrel is 1 1/16" across the flats, has 7 grooves and uses a .526 ball, all of which are the same for a GRRW Leman. The lock is an L&R. It has a gold inlaid wedding band at the muzzle. The rifle is in excellent condition. It was my go to deer rifle until I quit hunting 5 years ago. $1,375.00 plus $70.00 shipping to the lower 48.

Gemmer, I’ll take this Leman. This is just what I’ve been looking for. I feel bad as a new member to the forum and know that it’s nice to deal with someone who has a proven track record. Whatever I need to do to show that I’m a legitimate buyer, please let me know. Thanks!!

I want to make it clear to anyone interested in this rifle that I am not claiming or suggesting that this is a GRRW rifle. I was merely pointing out the similarities between mine and the ones made by GRRW.

Going to need a photo of the rifle with a card or piece of paper showing the date of the photo and your screen name, please.

Have you examined barrel, buttplate for any stamps? Some of the GRRW staff made rifles at home with parts from the shop. A friend has such a fullstock Leman in percussion. The GRRW Collector's newsletter is no longer and Doc White passed away this summer. Perhaps some of the old staff from Roosevelt, Utah would recognize it. Bill Large's old machinery was used and 1 in 48 twist was on many barrels. Can't recall if there were 7 groove rather than 8. The .54 caliber barrels were tight where a .526 or .520 round ball was necessary. Lock looks like an L and R Manton. GRRW used other brands of locks and perhaps a customer wanted a double throat cock.
