And if you have a thick/ tight patch and it doesn't move the ball (according to your musing) What harm is done other than it possibly being off the powder charge ?

No harm in bouncing (if that's what you meant?)...bouncers welcome around my camp fire:p

I just seriously really really really cannot see bouncing a ram rod moving a PRB at all if the patch is decently fitted??? This from 46 years of seating the ball on the powder with several strokes and an ummmph at the end. I could be wrong, swmbo says so? Are you siding with her? lol

I don't know, maybe. has a precedent been set? multiple precedents ? I think we need her testimony. :D

I don't load super tight patch/ball combos. I also don't bounce my range rod (it is heavy) I don't always bounce either, but when I do it is usually with a purpose.
I love watching other guys load their guns, it's always fascinating and fun.
